Announcing Springfield High School Drama Spring Production
The Springfield High School Blue Devil Drama Club is pleased to announce their production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The musical will be performed March 22, 23 and 24, 2013 in the High School Auditorium. The Friday and Saturday curtain will be at 7:30pm; Sunday curtain is at 2:30.
Six
young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed
to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn't everything and that
losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE is a hilarious tale of
overachievers' angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders
vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. The show's Tony Award
winning creative team has created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the
unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a
spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same
time.
We will bring four audience members up on stage to compete alongside the student performers. Each audience member stays as long as they can spell the words given to them. Can you take the heat? This is your chance to not only be a star on stage, but also to prove that you?ve still got what it takes from middle school. H-Y-S-T-E-R-I-C-A-L!
Purchase your tickets early via the link above. Tickets will also be available at the door beginning one hour before show time. Tickets are $10 adults/ $8 students and seniors/ $5 student night Saturday ONLY with student ID. General admission.
